Cthulu, dreams, Yu Yu Hakusho

Oh Great Cthulhu!

I have been an extremely diligent devotee this year.

In April, I defiled the grave of that traitor, Lovecraft (90 points). In May, I bombed a cultist gathering (-100 points). In February, I made a burnt offering to the Dead Dreamer (100 points). In October, I sacrificed [info]doolabug to Cthulhu (500 points). In August, I stopped [info]liwy from defiling Lovecraft's grave (-20 points). In March, I exposed [info]that_quiet_ache to soul-rending horrors (250 points).

In short, I have been very good (820 points) and deserve the honour of having my body used as a host for one of your servitors.

Your humble and obedient servant,
deralte

Submit your own plea to Cthulhu!

You've always wanted to be the victim of a pagan sacrifice, right [livejournal.com profile] doolabug?;) *happily sings The Carol of the Olde Ones*

And now my urge to get a Cthulu plushy is back...

In other news, I dreamt about Paradise Kiss last night, only Caroline went to a large sleepover summer camp and George tended bar but was actually Lucifer tempting her to be with him, which meant that eventually she'd have to die. (I knew I shouldn't have been considering storytelling in allegories (a la Narnia) before going to sleep...) On the amusing side, all the Yu Yu Hakusho guys were there as camp counselors.

I finished watching all my YYH dvds yesterday. Only it's weird since I'm apparently missing both the first and fifth dvd. I know I used to own the first one, but I can't figure out if I owned the fifth since I remember one of the fights in it quite clearly, but not the other one and I could just be remembering the manga. Also, I hadn't realized how many of my dvds were the mangled cut version. It's weird to switch from dub to sub like that, especially with how different people like Kurama an Hiei sound. I have to admit it's a bit easier to tell Kurama's a guy in the dub. I keep thinking that Kurama and Kenshin should form some sort of club for anime red heads who get mistaken for girls (and maybe for people whose names begin with k...).

I love all the pathos between Yukina and Hiei simply because it really makes Hiei such an interesting character (not to mention the potential for revelation scenes *eg*). I'd forgotten how cute Kuwabara and Yukina are too.

And now I shall leave this cthulu themed christmas post with Penny Arcade's The Last Christmas which has me in stiches every time I read it.

lj, bujinkan, mini rant

Getting all the lj comments from the past few weeks randomly today has been rather weird. It's like looking into the past.

Bujinkan tonight was nice. M. and I joked around near the beginning until I ended up training with one of the younger, new guys. Sensei Jack showed up about a third of the way through. He's been in Japan the past few weeks and it showed by his enthusiasm now that he's back. (He was also singing, which is always a good sign since it means he'll only beat up the uke, but it was also bad for me since it was christmas carols and now they're stuck in my head.)

We worked on throws using arms and space, which was fun (especially since my partner was really tall so whenever he threw me I went flying (whee!)). I had to be careful with him since he didn't roll well. Later, we did the same throws but with a bo. It was surprisingly easy. We haven't used a bo so practically in awhile now. Jack said one very cryptic thing to me that I still have no idea what it meant, but he also saw me do this one move and said that was exactly what he was looking for, which made me grin (especially since he didn't make me teach *L*). Amusingly enough, Jack mock attacked my brother after class and was surprised when the boy avoided it immediately. He asked if he was paranoid and if I attacked him all the time - which is exactly what I do *eg*

I really wish sensei wouldn't say things like "the bo is a living thing" during class though since it always sends my mind off on anime tangents, and when I refocus later I realize he's changed the technique and I've nearly missed it...

I've already reached the 'muttering curses under my breath stage every time I hear a christmas song' stage. Is it so wrong to want to listen to normal music during the month of December?!
