Was a bit dead from kickboxing last night, but I had a great day nonetheless. Met up with the others for a okonomiyaki party/lunch thing at a friend of Mi.'s house. It was a beautiful sprawling place with a gorgeous garden. We were treated to heaps of food from homemade okonomiyaki to inari sushi, pineapple, milano cookies, fresh cherry tomatos, yakisoba, some potato pancake terriyaki things and daikon. The daikon was a bit of a surprise since she asked if we wanted some and we said sure so she went out to the garden to pick it. It was good and sweet, eaten like carrot sticks. On our way out, she gave us each one, which was cool though I've cut it up and tried to eat it and it didn't taste nearly as good as it did before. Weird. We had a lovely time being stuffed and chatting.
Later, M. and I went to Fuji Grand to look around. Picked up a brilliant Engrish shirt (my unofficial hobby is finding the best ones and buying them). It has to be seen to be believed but it says, "BRACING. Pure air is absorbed, and it wants to take a vivid rainbow by this hand. PRECIOUS. 3. The Best! ROAD TO SKY" (also there's a pic of a rainbow with a cloud and sun and the cloud has "crisp" written on it.) The back says , "The day which cleared away plays as much as possible." Ah, Engrish.
The Death Note movie is out and I desperately want to see it, only I wouldn't understand a lot of it and I can't quite bring myself to waste the money to go see it anyway. The pics in the magazines are pretty cool though, and I think L was even better cast looks wise than Raito.
Have spent the evening planning my trip to Kyoto and Nara, which is a rather huge undertaking on my part in terms of time management and seeing the really obscure things I'm interested in. In particular, cannot decide if I want to spend three nights in Nara, or three nights in Kyoto. Also, am being thwarted by stupid things like not being able to book this far ahead. It's only two months away people!
Also reading through fandomwank stuff, mostly HP. Good stuff. Was actually eating popcorn while reading *L*
