As far as I can tell, they have extra bones or streching or something that allows them to do it comfortably. I find sitting with my ankles crossed as uncomfortable as you do. Now, traditionally, men are allowed to sit that way while women are supposed to sit with feet pointing straight back and hands in a certain position, so either way, we loose.
