I'd recommend watching Arslan only with a friend(s) whose open to interpretation and enjoys mocking things because really, that's the only reason my bro and I have watched (what little there is of it). The plot is this utterly fem prince, Arslan, is rescued from a disasterous battle that destroys his kingdom by this hot, devoted general, who takes him to meet another bishounnen strategist/artist who he has "a past" with the general, to help them. Then they meet up with the bishounnen minstrel, the bishounnen thief. There is one woman who the thief flirts with at least, proving that one character may not be gay! Oh, and the villian is the evil brother of Arslan, who hides his face behind a mask but will most likely be a bishounnen.

Take that, and some of the most suggestive lines you will ever witness in an anime, and thousands of longing looks between the guy characters and you have hours of mocking fun. My bro and I tend to insert the obvious dialogue from the subtext and this was before I'd even read more than a few slash fics. In short, I wouldn't watch it for seriousness, but it's damn funny for that very reason.
