Sensei Jack was very affectionate at Bujinkan tonight - he tried to strangle me with my pigtail. I swear he's trying to drive me mad - one minute he's encouraging me to hit my partner as hard as I want, the next he's warning me off of killing him (and no, I'm not changing the force behind my punches after either of those teasings).
Training itself was the basic katas in the beginning, which was kinda relaxing for me in that I practice those all the time on my own so it was more of a physical work out than anything else. Then Jack arrived and we did various shinden fudo ryu variations on hicho (hicho being a basic kamae that involves standing on one foot with the other foot resting on your knee ready to kick). I can't even remember the last time I did a spinning back kick, but it was damn easy this time around. Have no injuries to speak of for once.
I tried desperately to finish off chapter 7 of Silver and Gold today. I managed over a page, but that still leaves me a page and a half short of my usual chapter length. Maybe I can make it to page six before I go to bed. I think my problem might be that I'm desperate to end on a cliffhanger, which means I'm drawing out things that I'd usually skip over (the only good thing being that I doubt anyone will notice).
Mmm. Pistachio pudding is yummy.
