Thanksgiving Challenges

[livejournal.com profile] havenward asked me to think up a few challenges for her to write before thanksgiving as simple writing practice. Being me, I came up with far too many ideas, and since she's choosing only one, I thought I'd throw them out here and see if anyone would like to claim them:) I'd like to see them if anyone does write them.

Wolfwood doesn't shoot Zazie the Beast. Does Vash talk Zazie out of killing, or is Vash or Meryl shot? How does this change what happens afterwards?

Jack Sparrow, pirate, captain, ballroom dancer?

Write about Vash and Wolfwood's adventure in that city before Augusta (where they ended up in trouble again and Meryl and Milly go to look for them there and ask questions and stuff). Actually, any story about them while they're doing that bit of traveling is good.

A story from the cats pov in Trigun.

Explain one of the trinkets in Jack Sparrow's hair.

Methos is sick of piracy and gave up on it years ago. He's even more annoyed when the ship he's sailing on get's attacked by the Black Pearl.

Kronos and Methos leave the Horsemen for awhile and go off to have their own adventure, involving a cloth merchant, pomegranates and a mad priest.

Back in the Matrix after the final movie, Morpheus takes the opportunity to talk one last time with the Neo he remembers.

Methos really only wanted a quiet drink, but the chances of a drink being quiet when Vash the Stampede walked into the bar were about nil.

Kenshin breaks his non-killing vow... when he steps on a spider. *g*

Alternatively, if you really would like to do this, but don't like any of the challenges above (due to not knowing the fandoms, you think they're stupid, etc.) leave me a comment asking for a challenge from any fandom but HP and if I know the fandom, you'll get a challenge or two:)

Oh, devil woman! I'm in my "can't resist a challenge" phase. Just having the word Challenge in the cut tag text made me click. And now I must write. *smites you* I'm going to start ignoring my flist soon if this keeps up. First Molly hooks me into doing a MeMe that results in me having more reading material than I know what do with...and now this. *headdesk*

*L* Glad I could share the fun;) Which one's caught your eye btw?

[identity profile] wcspegasus.livejournal.com 2003-11-20 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
Jack Sparrow, pirate, captain, ballroom dancer?

Well, this one snagged me first. But I'm already having problems comprehending how I'll keep him in character and still fullfill the Ballroom dancing portion of the fic.

So, I'll probably take the easy way out and do the hair trinket one.

Aw, I think you could keep him in character and still have him dancing. You'd just have to assume he knows how to dance, or needs to learn how to dance and er, possibly put him in drag...

My mind is a strange place, isn't it?
Good luck on whichever one you choose:)

No stranger than some. :)

Kenshin breaks his non-killing vow... when he steps on a spider.

*dies laughing*

I request Saiyuki and/or Inuyasha challenges. (those above ones are really very interesting, especially the Wolfwood not shooting Zazie one...hmm)

Thought you'd like that one:) I'm tempted to write that one too but it'd be really short and silly and pointless, and surely someone's thought of it before...

I'd really love to see someone do that Zazie one someday. Everyone in the trigun fandom seems to write AU's where Wolfwood didn't *spoiler*, but honestly, why not change another event and run from there?

Saiyuki challenges

The Sanzo-ikku gets very very lost when Hakkai's only map is accidently eaten by Goku. Three days of forced companionship later, everyone's sanity is hanging by a thread... and Goku is hungry.

Sanzo and co. stumble upon another scroll only it doesn't work quite as Sanzo expects it to...

Inu yasha

Myouga introduces his nephew to the life of a flea youkai by taking him around the country to "meet" ie. taste, different youkai. They must visit Inuyasha, Kouga and Sesshoumaru at least.

Inu yasha discovers he can use spiritual powers (like kagome's) but only on the new moon.

No, I don't think anyone has thought of it before...I was heavily involved in RK fandom at its height, and I'd never seen it. Bwhaha.

The Zazie one is awesome, but I wouldn't know where to begin. Besides, then we'd lose the catalyst for Wolfwood/Milly!

As regards the challenges: Goku is always hungry, and they're already insane anyway! *Gryn*

Did you know that Wolfwood apparently doesn't *spoiler* in the manga? How's that for coolness?:)

Goku is always hungry, and they're already insane anyway! *Gryn*

Yes, but they can always go just a bit further;P

[identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-11-23 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Say WHAT?! *must go read manga RIGHT NOW! NOW I SAY!* Sighhhh, I saw it all on Ebay once and am still kicking myself for not snagging it...don't dare go look to see if it's listed again!

Though on the other hand, as *spoilers* go, that was damned well done.

MORE insane? I'm not sure I could cope!

Say WHAT?! *must go read manga RIGHT NOW! NOW I SAY!*

That was my reaction upon hearing that:) Unfortunately, they only have the first two volumes out in English as far as I can tell, which means they won't get up to that part of the manga for awhile (did manage to read the first volume btw and it was quite good... a much better mix of humour and seriousness right at the start). Of course there's always scanlations, but I can never justify buying them.

Though on the other hand, as *spoilers* go, that was damned well done.
*preens*:)

There are fan translations in existance somewhere! And some are very good. Squee!

[identity profile] deralte.livejournal.com 2003-11-24 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
If you find any, could you give me the link? *is writing essay and doesn't have the time to search*

Oh, you're cleared for Friday btw:) Shall we meet at Forbbidden Planet at 11:10am then?

(And it occurs to me I dreamt last night that you had come to take back your dvds, but accidently left them again and instead took some of my dvds... what a normal dream on my part:)

[identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-11-24 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds good to me. =)

As for your dream, hmm, sounds just like me...*gryn* Actually, I did want to beg to borrow one, if you don't mind...can't find a copy of The Three Musketeers *anywhere* out here, not on DVD anyway, and Katie the self-proclaimed Tim Curry fanatic needs to see it as badly as you and your wacky sense of humor need to see the Emperor's New Groove. If you'd rather not, though, that'd be fine and I can try to snag a copy over the break.

[identity profile] deralte.livejournal.com 2003-11-24 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
You can borrow it:) My dad has a copy of it at home that I can watch if I get the urge during the holidays. Of course, you'll have to visit soon in the second term to return it;)

[identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-11-24 08:06 am (UTC)(link)
I'd do that anyway. *gryn* Besides, chances are I will forget my DVDs again, because I really am that much of a space cadet. Curses! *does the happy dance of Tim Curry*

BTW, did you see the note where [livejournal.com profile] randomchris invited you to muck about at the Christmas festival thingamajigger on Saturday with us? Apparently he's read Uric, found it nifty, and wants to meet you. *gryn* Up for it?

[identity profile] deralte.livejournal.com 2003-11-24 08:12 am (UTC)(link)
Up for it?

*goes to look* Oops, hadn't seen the note:) I'd love to come. Sounds like fun:)

[identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-11-24 08:54 am (UTC)(link)
Thought you might've missed it. *gryn* Wootage!
