Saturday

Whee! [livejournal.com profile] dizziebeth and [livejournal.com profile] lucyjin came over to visit today around noon. First I tramatized lucyjin with the 50th episode of FMA (yes, it is better to know someone else is suffering with you). Then we watched the Saiyuki Movie - Requiem, which features the gayest anime movie villian ever, complete with scary stalkerish crush on Sanzo and dressing like a woman in a 70's track suit to the... lines he was shouting out. Very entertaining all things considered, but not to be watched if you're looking for anything like realism, characterization, plot... er, Gojyo spends half the movie with his shirt off...

Next, I converted the two of them to Hornblower love, or more like Archie Kennedy love *eg* We ended up watching the first three episodes before the day was out. Could a series be more subtext laden?

We also watched the first episode of Prince of Tennis, which we were not impressed with. Lots of talking happened as well, and pizza and other little fun things. It's nice to find the time to relax with friends.

Yay! Another fanatic devotee!

Not without the subtext becoming text.

*sudden early morning desire to watch Hornblower* Why did I leave my DVDs in Dublin? *frets*

Introducing new people to Hornblower has been my favourite excuse for rewatching the series, though it's highly amusing to see who they end up with a crush on (yes, there are Horatio fans... who knew?;)).

Ah, well, see, much as I love Archie, I wouldn't exactly kick Horatio out of the bed for leaving biscuit crumbs in it, if you know what I mean.

Actually, you probably won't - Irishism.

I know that one:P And sadly, I wouldn't kick Horatio out - if he had a beard, or maybe just if Archie was there as well...

Please don't tell me that Horatio grows a beard. Please. That's just... wrong.

And why kick him out if Archie were there? Twice the fun! ;)

I meant to say I wouldn't kick him out if Archie was there:) And no, he doesn't grow a beard, but I like Ioan Gruffud when he's scruffy, therefore I'd like him better with one.
