There's something really intimidating about getting an email from your dissertation supervisor offhandedly reminding you to read a particular paper on hillforts because the person who wrote it will probably be marking your dissertation. Eep.

Reminds me a bit of reading a book before Cambridge because one of my interviewers wrote it :/ only even scarier.
