In Bourges
Quite tired. So, I went to Bourges this year to dig in a moderately nice climlate compared to Cyprus, you know, 80 degrees. I get here, discover there;s a heat wave and that were digging in the same temperatures as cyprus 100+ degrees. Oy Vey.
Pool nearby is nice, but sleeping in the heat is nigh impossible at least for me. It might get better after I;m exhausted by the dig. Bourges is a very pretty city at least.
First day today, site cleaning always sucks but on top of that discovered hte kind professor is an anal bastard when it comes to digging. I wanted to curse him off when he made me give my cold water specially prepared by me to one of the french students who was stupid enough not to bring his own... and yet he doesn;t critize them, oh no... I have just as much, if not more digging experience than them. And his insistence that we rake and shovel and brush a very specific and tiring way is really getting on my nerves. Will snap at some point if this keeps up. In Cyprus they worked us just as hard, but they were nicer about it.
Have made a new friend at least. She;s in a year below me and likes anime, discworld, highlander and a bunch of other stuff... oh, and she writes fanfic:) More importantly she has my sense of humour, so despite meeting for hte first time yesterday, we;ve been acting like we;ve knonwn each other for years.
Off to the pool, then three more hours of digging. Why do I do these things again?
