A little Niffler rant, or why I can't find anything to read for the Order
There are actually a lot more niffled stories then people think, but I must be one of the few who is always having to go back to the beginning to find something to read. I have two major problems. The first is that for long over a year, whatever I read, I reviewed. If I've read all the way through a story, or even a chapter, you'll find a review by me. The early ones are depressingly short, but they are there. This means that for a lot of the fics there, I have already read and reviewed, usually long before they were niffled. I'd love to read Serpentine Chain or The Cliche Catalogue for the challenge but I can't honestly say I've done so until they put up new chapters for me to review. (If fictionalley were up, I'd give you the percentage of niffled fics I've read, but I can estimate that I've already read and reviewed about half the stories in the thread.)
Second problem. It's all about the ships. Do I really need to read yet another Draco/Harry fic that sounds like every other Draco/Harry fic? I dislike reading romance in general, and a romantic story has to be something pretty special to get me to read it. And frankly, I don't trust the niffler's opinions on these. Most of them seem to have a preferred ship, and how am I supposed to expect someone to make a non-biased judgement of their favourite OTP fic?
I don't really care that they've been niffling major fics, except to say that it a) seems a bit lazy, and b) was there really such a lack of none well known fics around that they had to niffle a major one?
As a specifically Order related complaint, why are there so few short stories being niffled? There are some excellent one shots out there that people seem to ignore. (And it would certainly make my life easier if there were more of them to read.)
I have exactly three niffled fics to read atm, and then I run out again. Here's hoping they niffle something I can read before then...
