Yesterday, I had my meeting with my dissertation supervisor. When presented with my two page long tentative outline he asked me if I was planning on spending the rest of my life writing it *sweatdrop* Other than that he liked it, and kept me babbling with him about varying mortuary rituals way over time, so that I was almost late going back to my flat and encountering [livejournal.com profile] fyrie and [livejournal.com profile] siriaeve literally waiting on my doorstep.

The three of us settled in, watching Kenshin and waiting for [livejournal.com profile] ashfae to show up, which she eventually did while we were in the middle of watching Hornblower. Also watched were Blackadder, Firefly, and Coupling. With Coupling being the most amusing since watching everyone in the room react to the show was entertaining *eg* [livejournal.com profile] randomchris also showed up and ended up watching Coupling which I believe he came to regret. Siria and Fyre spent the night which meant much talking over a nominal rewatching of POTC.

Today, I must photocopy many things for dissertation to peruse at my leisure, and then meet up with [livejournal.com profile] lucyjin and [livejournal.com profile] dizziebeth for a Gundam Wing marathon.

I'm thinking of employing ninja newts instead of aardvark assassins from now on. Have heard Aardvark Attack Squad has now taken over a small country in Central America.

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] havenward!:)

I got a face full of sakura petals today as I was walking. I was tempted to look around to spot the bishonnen, or at least the shoujo manga.

Am all packed for Portsmouth. It's rather amusing how lightly I've packed. Living out of two backpacks for two months straight has made me rather blase about shorter trips. It's over seven hours by train, so I expect to get some reading and writing done on the trip. I want to start reading Master and Commander, but I can't since I know I'm going to be hooked and I don't have the time to read a series that long before my exams (not if I want to study, that is). I probably won't be online again until Monday.

Gah. I miss Fullmetal Alchemist already. I hate being in the depths of a new fandom addiction. No word from the aardvarks.

You're a Dialogue/Character Writer!

What kind of writer are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Professor who borrowed my notes is hiding from me. I'm rather amused. Packing for Portsmouth atm, since I leave rather early tommorrow on the train. The hardest thing is deciding how many books to bring and what the 'books for pleasure', 'books for studying' ratio should be. Am beginning to regret creating the Attack Aardvark team. Am thinking I should have gone with Attack Aphids instead.

The important questions - Will I be able to get through four days in Portsmouth without babbling nerdily about Hornblower? and Will I survive four days without Fullmetal Alchemist?

Anime was tonight. We watched various things, nothing was new to me except Yami no Matsuei, which was appalingly bad, but not as bad as Weiss Kruz. Afterwards, we watched Sharpe's Honour where we laughed at the pillow man and other silly things. Attack Aardvark's sent me a package filled with a tiny doll that looked like me, but had pins sticking out of it. Have sent them a pin cushion shapped like a tomato that I think will work better.

My professor borrowed all my notes since I was the only one who had organized them (chronologically too), and was meant to give them back to me, but hadn't finished with them when I went to pick them up today so he got down on his knees and begged forgiveness. I was rather shocked, but later, infintely amused by the whole thing. Lucky that's my last exam and I don't actually need the notes.

[livejournal.com profile] fyrie and I have had a lovely weekend. We watched many, many things, including Firefly, Kenshin, Hellsing, Blackadder and Coupling and pigged out on ice cream and strawberries. We also went to my church, which was amusing, though it led to conversations like this -
Fyre: Stop playing with the body of Christ.
Ariana: But it's chewy!

The 30th episode of Fullmetal Alchemist came out today. Quite intriguing, though of course, it didn't answer nearly as many of my questions as I'd have liked. This icon btw, is part of a set I'm doing for all the FMA characters when I have the time. I really must get my website with my icon page online...

Am now reading through the FMA manga at a prodigious rate and trying to sort out my accomodation in portsmouth. Attack Aardvarks sent another letter addressed to the "Grande Perdedor". I thought I told them to send things in English? The rest of the letter was once again complaints about their name. Have sent them a memo back saying they can change their name to the Attack Aardvark Assasination squad if it makes them happy. Am beginning to wonder how exactly they hold pens to write me with.

Have finally made a Fullmetal Alchemist icon, that hopefully makes some sense, even if you haven't seen the episode. I've watched up to 29 now, and desperately regret that the next one isn't out yet. The whole damn series is one massive cliffhanger. Also beautifully poignant, and funny with brilliant characterizations. Of the latest new characters, I really like Ed and Al's sensei, cause she's cool.

Went to Forbidden Planet on the off chance of finding Fullmetal Alchemist merchandise, and actually found it to my surprise. Now have pretty stickers and an article in Japanese. Found a lovely place to sit up on a hill surrounded by trees and sunlight to browse through the magazine. It was purty:)

Desperately want the Edward figurine I've seen online, but while it seems to be cheap in Japan, it sells for $40-60 over here. Aardvark Attack squad sent me a letter in Spanish protesting the alliteration of their name. Pretended I couldn't work babblefish, and told them to send everything in English. Think I'll go make more icons now. Ja ne!

Saw Kill Bill Vol. 2 today with [livejournal.com profile] dizziebeth. It works nicely as a continuation of the last movie, though with slightly less fighting. We saw the preview for King Arthur on the big screen. Tried not to laugh through the *whole* thing... I feel very sorry for anyone who sits near me when I go to see that movie. And why isn't Sean Bean in the Troy trailer? Why?

Have now seen up to episode 24 of Fullmetal Alchemist. Am reading the manga scanlations, and finishing up the last Hornblower novel. Sending killer attack ardvark squad back to Mexico for retraining. Also booked tickets for Portsmouth.
