My flatmate laughed at me yesterday when I mentioned I had noticed that it was spring (the pink blossoms on all the trees gave it away...are those cherry trees btw?). Apparently those trees have been blooming for over a week and I just hadn't noticed due to being locked in my tiny room feverishly writing essays.

Speaking of essays and work, I got my Arch. practical done yesterday, which means I won't have to write it on top of the Arch. essay which is due the same day. Witchcraft essay still needs a bit more research before I can start writing, but must start writing tonight or else all is lost. Rewarded my dedication by rewatching the first episodes of the OVA again. I noted that my historical knowledge has progressed to the point where I am no longer confused about what events they keep alluding to. Am still resisting fanfic writing urge.

To be born with a caul, or a membrane enveloping the head of the baby was (and I'm sure still is) considered lucky. In Siberia, to be born this way made you a potential shaman. In the case of a rather obscure group of people called the benandanti, it made them warriors in the fight against witches and wizards who they fought against by leaving their bodies and weilding stalks of fennel against them (the witches and wizards fought back with sorrel...). They were, of course, accused of being witches and later forced to change their story to suit the standard witches confession, but they obviously believed they were doing these things, and all because they were born with a caul.

I was born with a caul, which was advertised for sale, in the newspapers, at the low price of fifteen guineas. - Dickens

I logged into my ff.net profile in order to add some Kenshin fics in, and out of boredom/procrastination checked over my stats stuff.

Apparently -
I have given 1270 signed reviews.
The latest chapter of Intersections In Real Time has been viewed 3195 times. Suspect readers are insane.
The latest chapter of Uric the Oddball and the Great Goblin Uprising has been viewed 123 times.
Bath Time, my favourite Blade of the Immortal fic has been viewed a surprising 1377 times. I'm also amused to find that despite being written in 2001, and being 1 of 22 BOI fics on ff.net, it still has the most reviews of them all. (Ego? What's that?...)
Not Another Snape is Harry's Father Story has been viewed 2728 times.
The latest chapter of Sands of Time has 629 views.
I apparently have 191, 233 words archived, which must be a very messed up count considering all the author's notes that are scattered about in the stories...
This means there's an average of 7,333 words per entry, though I've yet to figure out if that is per chapter or just per story.
So assuming about 550 words per page of writing, and that I took an hour or more writing each page, that's 350 hours of writing. Or 14 1/2 days. Scary.

Ooo, there's a new chapter of Boromir's Return up...there goes getting sleep tonight. Should probably get back to writing essay...
