Have this inexplicable urge to watch some Fushigi Yugi. Suspect my bishounnen count is low, which is quite strange considering I've been watching Saiyuki all week. I'd have to say that the bishounnen are some of the few redemning factors in Fushigi Yugi. The plot's are usually rather inane, the love cliche (I swear Tamahome is some mind controlled zombie... which actually makes some sense if you think of myths like in 3X3 Eyes), and Miaka is annoying. The humour is sometimes amusing though and some of the characters are well developed after awhile. Still can't watch it in large doses but I haven't seen it since around this time last year so the horrible details are fading. Pity there's no way I can get ahold of the VCDs to watch it.

Off to watch more Saiyuki and read about the Bakumatsu.

Went out tonight to see Igby Goes Down at this antique little theatre somewhere in the middle of the city. Tourist season/summer is annoying since it brings out all these people, necesitating my avoidence of being groped by drunken idiots at the early hour of 6pm. Movie was good, but quite surreal. It had some fantastically funny scenes (though sometimes you were quite ashamed to be laughing) and some simply sad/dramatic scenes making it entertaining but ultimately rather odd.

Then my flatmate and I were really girly and rented The Importance of Being Ernest. (Do you think Colin Firth has a period costume fetish?...) Movie was funny in a goofy sort of way, you just had to keep reminding yourself that all the characters were morons for the plot to work.

Hmm, now to find something utterly useless to do with myself. I know, I'll write fanfic...
