Had Bujinkan tonight for the first time in awhile. So much fun and a good recap lesson for me:) We did basic sword forms (I really should bring my bokken back to uni with me and practice on my own... just not sure if I can get it through the airport security. I doubt it would fit in my bags), the basic kata (I've been practicing them 2-3 times a week, but it was nice to see what I've been doing wrong out of memory failure), and simple avoiding the sword stuff (ie. we were attacked with a padded stick and had to get out of the way). One guy actually got hit and was bleeding from a cut on his forehead and after that the guy with the stick didn't hit with as much force, especially for me (being the only female in the class). Sometimes chauvinism can be rather annoying...

Was just very happy to have a nice recap lesson and ease myself back into lessons. This way sensai might not kill me next week for letting my skills slip (which has a tendency to happen when you have no one to pratice with for months on end). Maybe my black belt will even arrive before next week. All my blackbelts so far have been cursed to be lost. I've only been able to wear one once before it disapeared into the black belt abyss. Wouldn't really care either way, but it's a bit hard to draw your sword properly without a belt to stick it in (and it sort of helps with the male chauvinism part sometimes...). Have a nice wooden tanto on the way as well, so I can stop borrowing them from people.

The only thing frustrating is hearing that we'll be focusing on the sword this year, while I'll be stuck back at uni doing the basic katas and pretending the other people at the gym aren't staring. Would really like to improve my sword skills, but there's no way it's happening this year:(
