Well, things are looking better cold-wise. I spent all of Sunday lazing about my hotel room with a english book to read. Started to feel almost human around 6pm (but am still coughing, sniffling and mildlly itching), and felt well enough to walk around the corner and go to this lovely pizza place. I had a artichoke, ham, mozzarella, gorgonzola, mushroom and sausauge pizza (which I couldn't finish, it being about 12 inches wide) for about 7 euros which is 8 dollars for you americans and 4.50 pounds for the british on my list. Not bad, ne? and certainly beat the overpriced hotel food. Afterwards, bartender at hotel gave me free drinks which came to well over half a bottle of wine (and then he handed me my own bottle of it since I liked it so much and two glasses to drink it with... don't ask me how I'm going to travel about italy with it though). Got to talk to my father since they have my number at the hotel which was nice. Had mtv on all day, which was nice since it's mostly in english with italian subtitles, and they play tons of music videos so it's more like having the radio on then anything.

Not sure how I feel about hte book I read, Stormrider by David Gemmel. The book was well done until the last 50 pages where he seemed to lose heart in his writing and just wrapped it up. Plot was predictible but entertaining enough (took me 100 pages or so to figure it all out (in a 450 page book) which I suppose is something). I had the impression that many of the characters were a bit too perfect, the dialogue was good. I was a bit annoyed that he writes by giving you random page or two long summaries of peoples lives, especially when he's introducing new characters. - it made for a weird flow. Also, the main character of the book shifts quite abruptly in the middle of the story which is a bit disconcerting, especially when you realize that one of the character's stories isn't even finished by the end of the book. Ah well, will stop deconstructing it now.

I have a choice tonight of resting in my hotel room, or going to see Notre Dame de Paris in Italian at the colluseum here. I don't speak Italian but NDeP is one of my favourite musicals off all time, and I've seen it in English (not to mention listened to it in French). Tickets are relatively inexpensive, but it runs late, and it's rather cool and rainy out atm. Not sure if that would be good for me. Also expect my dad to call again tonight. Wibbling horribly over going to see it. Could also stay another day here and see it tomorrow night since only have to see Pisa and Pompeii after this before I meet my mum in Rome. Argh. Don't know... *sigh*
