Anime series night went well. We watched Jubei-chan, Kenshin, Azumanga Diaoh, Full Metal Panic? Fumafu, Saiyuki and RahXephon (I liked... looks cool). It was quite crowded for a series night but I don't expect everyone back next week. Lots of fun though, and it was good to see everyone again (feel better, [livejournal.com profile] lucyjin!)

In other news, everything is up to snuff on my computer once again - except it won't play dvds. It would play them before it crashed but not now. The drivers are up to date and everything seems to be working, it just won't play dvds (and lowering the screen resolution or colour rate makes no difference). *sigh* Will probably have to call support later to get it fixed.

I have Underwater Archaeology today which should be interesting. I had my first class of Philosophy and Methodology of Archaeology yesterday at 9am, which utterly put me to sleep, but that wasn't a surprise.

Am getting help on playing dvds, since apparently, despite all evidence to the contrary, the video driver wasn't intalled like it was supposed to. Should be fixed once they send me a link to a new driver... I hope.

Underwater Archaeology was surprisingly fun. I wasn't bored at all during the two hour lecture 1) because it was bloody interesting and 2) because the lecturer is a complete cynic who looks like an old navy admiral who kept saying things like (in a tone I would compare to, oh, edmund blackadder's), "Treasure hunters... Oh my god." And then going on in a despairing tones about how horrible underwater archaeology is, but oh, wouldn't we like to all become underwater archaeologists anyway.? And to tell the truth, it does sound like fun and a good field if not for the being in water working all the time aspect and the fact that people still drown on the job... Think I will look forward to this class at least which is a pleasant surprise:)

And, though I'm not sure if I'll regret it later, I bit the bullet today and signed up for beginner's Japanese and I paid for it so I can't back out now. Why I think I can do it on top of my honours courses and other obligations is beyond me, but I'm certainly going to try. Which is why I must toddle off since the class starts soon... Ja ne.

Japanese was a lot of fun! I think it's much easier to learn a language when there's not the presure of getting good grades.

And I can play dvds. *pets her saiyuki dvd*

Note to self: Stop snickering when they mention Port Royale in Underwater Archaeology.
