Just got back from anime. Watched lots of stuff, though the highlights in my mind are One Piece and Berserk (ah, such a gay anime. Reminds me of Arlisan/Arslan (in the sense that there's so much subtext even my little brother notices it *L*)). Twelve Kingdoms is getting better now that the main charcter's gone mad... Invader Zim is still funny. Am sad that next episode is the last episode of Azumanga Diaoh.

Have been drafted into writing a blurb on the anime society for the student paper. Must remember to actually write it over the holidays, though have absolutely no idea what to say...

Underwater Arch. today was fascinating. Our professor is married to one of the archaeologists who worked on the Mary Rose so she came in and did a lecture on the ship (for those who don't know, the Mary Rose was a 16th century British warship that sank off Portsmouth in a battle with the French and was highly well preserved). Great stuff. And then we watched a cool documentary of an excavation of a Basque whaler in Canada. Was quite enthralled and amused since a lot of the sources I've been reading on later time periods claim whaling wasn't popular until the 18th century...

Will now do some work I guess before Japanese...

Learned a really cool fact in Japanese today. Apparently you're not supposed to pass food using one's chopsticks to another because when they cremate someone they use chopsticks to pick up the bones and pass them to the deceased' family. How cool is that?:)

Met up with [livejournal.com profile] ashfae, [livejournal.com profile] randomchris and Katie late today for general talk and silliness. Twas' fun, though now really must work on evil essay. Ja ne!
