I looked out the window this morning and wondered what was different about the view. Then I realized it was what the grass outside looked like when it was an hour earlier in the morning when I usually see it. Why am I awake?

I spent most of yesterday getting various tasks done in between watching many things. [livejournal.com profile] ashfae came over, and I addicted her to the intriguing beauty that is Gankutsuou, and we were imensely entertained by how gay the anime is. It's approaching Arslan levels of gay, and that's impressive. We then watched our obligatory episode of Inuyasha, but sadly, it really wasn't that entertaining. In the end, after she left me alone reading serious articles on Buggery and the British Navy and went off to plan world domination, she mysteriously returned, most likely to check that I hadn't reported her to the World Necktie Association, and we watched pretty episodes of Fruit's Basket, to which she is now officially hooked.

Afterwards, I did some boring organzing for uni, and more importantly, watched episodes of 7 and 8 of Lost, with seven being mostly excellent, and 8, not so much. Am now more entertained by reading the Television without Pity recaps.

It's freezing cold out. I just got back from an extra lecture on the colour of animals in archaeology, done by my zooarchaeology professor, which is the only reason I attended. Now I have less then an hour before I have to decide if I want a cold walk to and from karate tonight for a seminar which I'm not at all sure about, or if I want to skip that and go to a flatwarming party, or stay home and watch the tele. Guess which one is winning.

Quotes from zooarchaeology professor:

On drawing animals - "Now I'll make a nice and graceful, tasty cow."

On drawing bulls - "This is a male. I indicate this with a horn and not something more pornographic."

On domestication - "Domesticity. That's the end of free love for domestic animals."
