New Years Day

rinzei, sylk and havenward were here for New Years, though before that we went to huntress_ayame's house for an impromptu game of Apples to Apples and snacks. I wanted to get home as early as possible though since driving on New Year's eve sucks.

So last night, havenward and I had the bright idea of getting drunk before midnight. Of course, we only started at 11, so we decided shots of lemon rum were the way to go. It was 4-5 all total, then we started mixing it with cranberry and raspberry juice. Since I have the highest alcohol tolerance of (them all! mwahaha... j/k) my friends, I double shotted mine, and had another shot of brandy at some point as well. We managed almost all of this before midnight and then spent the next few hours pleasantly inebriated.

Some random observations - I speak much better french and japanese while drunk... Monkey King is just as strange while drunk as while sober... rinzei performs flying glomps when buzzed... You should always believe your friends when they tell you their's a sniper rifle's laser scope trained on you... My little brother sees more slashy subtext in Prince of Tennis than I do... It's been a very long time since I saw the Highlander blooper video... The alternate cut of Comes a Horseman is like the old cut, only with bad hair... Jumping over the town border line running down the middle of my street never gets old... Nor does dancing in the middle of the road... I am completely obsessed with Saiyuki and Bleach atm...

I'm quite amused that I've welcomed in the new year by winning first place at saiyuki_awards again this week.

Once we woke up this morning and watched more Saiyuki (we were two eps away from finishing the entire series...), then I said goodbye to the others, and took my bro to the local Borders to use up some gift cards. It was inevitable I would pick up saiyuki manga 5-6, though I did get Samurai deeper kyo 1 cause I was curious.

Afterwards, I went to visit ozmaz who was lovely as usual. She fed me food and tea and in return I brought FMA, and we watched eps 8-17. I also managed to read The Art of Discworld while I was there and it was really cool. Now, I'm back reading the Bleach manga scanlations, though I may convince my dad to tear himself away from Last Exile (yes, my bro and I addicted him to the anime) to watch My Family or Allo Allo.
