I, after an exhausting day that mostly consisted of taking notes in various forms, had a lovely dinner with [livejournal.com profile] casfic. It was at this tiny little Chinese restaurant that for some reason played things like Take Me Home Country Road, but redone with traditional Chinese instruments. That was a bit surreal, but we feel into our usual good conversation, mostly discussion about writing and such. I was also blessed to be given a number of very cool history and archaeology books by Cas, which I shall enjoy muchly once I have free time again.

While we were in the pub afterwards, it began snowing and continued to. I believe that's the longest continual snow fall I've ever seen in Edinburgh... I've also seen more hail in the past few days than I've ever seen in my entire life (NJ being a land of snow, not hail). It's kinda entertaining, except for when the hail stings. Walking home was a bit of a mess due to the weather. Slushy snow and Edinburgh do not mix, and it hadn't occured to me to wear my boots. I managed to make it all the way to my doorstep, then tripped and fell right in front of it. Breakfalls are our friends. The snow that was falling was quite lovely to walk home in at least, and everyone is too busy watching where they are going to bother you.
