I have discovered the major problem with writing an essay after writing one's dissertation, namely, the word limit is killing me. It's very hard to switch to writing 2000 word when you just did a 10,000 word dissertation.

Needless to say, I'm only on the first paragraph of the main body of the essay, and it's nearly 1000 words. Dammit.
