I finally got around to screencapping this as my default martial arts icon. It's one of the handful of times in Naruto where someone actually uses taijutsu (Lee may claim to be doing taijutsu, but he's actually doing some form of kung fu...). Plus, it's always fun to see anime characters do something you know you're capable of (though if Sasuke had done this move properly, he'd have broken the guy's elbow easily instead of letting him slip free... tsk tsk Sasuke *eg*).
One of the troubles with being a martial artist and knowing how to properly fight is that you become exceedingly critical of fights in movies and shows. My friend, M. just went to Medieval Times this past week, and her report on the fighting there was absolutely scathing *L* It's easier to watch anime or fantasy actually cause then you can usually attribute the impossible to crazy physics or powers or something. Though then again, it sometimes makes you appreciate things more. I remember watching a Jackie Chan movie (I think it was The Tuxedo, but I could be wrong) where he attacked a bunch of guys with a rope, and I remember sitting there remembering the hours I'd spent practicing just a few of those rope tricks and I was quite impressed, even if I knew it must have taken him a ton of takes to get them right (fighting with rope sucks, trust me on this).
