I'm currently eating berry cheesecake ice cream so I can coat my stomach enough to take an anti-inflamatory. Such is life;)

Training tonight was good, though I have a lot of miscellaneous injuries. My heel started hurting again, and my left big toe has all the skin at the bottom scraped off rather painfully due to the hole in my tabi. Will have to go back to wearing socks until I get new ones. It was still basics tonight, but it was practical adaptation of a basic move. What to do if they punch this way, or pull their punch, or throw multiple punches etc. I trained with one of the other black belts, which was rather relaxing since we just switched on and off (who was attacking) and both of us would play around with different moves after completing the main one to see what worked. I get nervous when someone of a lesser skill level tries that on me. Mostly cause they either end up hurting you, or they get frustrated when it doesn't work and end up hurting you - not to mention you shouldn't be playing around with other moves until you get the main part of the "technique" down (technique being in quotes since the real point is being in the right place at the right time).

Anyway, we had fun, even if he still takes the opportunity to tickle me, and I take the opportunity to occasionally be vicious (I probably should not be amused that I made sensei R. wince...) The blackbelt I was training with and I had an interesting conversation about how much more humiliating and entertaining it is to defeat someone using dorky moves like three stooges eye pokes and stuff (he tends to attack that way when he gets bored with normal attacks). After all, not only have you had your arse handed to you, but you've had you're arse handed to you by someone who obviously wasn't taking you seriously. This is probably why Jackie Chan movies work so well.

Can only remember fragments of a dream this morning where I was a jounin on a mission that required a large number of kage bushin and henges in a forest somewhere. Kakashi was there, and come to think of it, I was an ANBU too, though I'd lost my mask by that point in the dream.
