Yakitate Japan continues to get more and more crazy. My brother and i have discovered we can't watch the second ending of the series without hyperventilating and dying of crack overdose. It's amusing that even the characters know they're going to get a dose of crack every time they eat Azuma's bread, and yet kinda scary as well. Not to mention there was half an episode where one guy (after undoing his trousers after eating some particularly cracktastic bread) spent the rest of the episode surrounded by other guys holding his trousers up. This was only one of the weirder things about the lastest episodes. I feel like I can only watch a few eps in a row before my brain begins to break. Hell, the only thing I've watched that's more cracktastic than this show is the PoT chibi eps and some of Excel Saga.

I visited [livejournal.com profile] ozmaz yesterday. I feel kinda bad that I addicted her to FMA, showed her the whole series, and just when she thought she was free, I addicted her to One Piece. She'll never be free now...

Other than that, have been variously working on job applications (read, barely...), reading fic (even if I have run out of decent Naruto fic *sigh*), and looking at a ton of fanart. Looking through the Japanese fanart/doujin sites gives me a lot of japanese practice, which is as good a reason as any to look for pictures of my favourite bishonnen with their shirts off;)

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] lucyjin I got your package today. I had a good laugh over the pen:) I have some things to send you as well, so expect them eventually;)

I've been in a pretty good mood all day, even though nothing really happened to put me in that good mood. I got an extra hour of sleep and was able to write a cover letter - that and read lots of random fic.

Bujinkan was nice since sensei Jack is finally back teaching full time. We started off with basic punches. It's good to know that punching walls over the past years has helped me stop leaning when I punch (bruised knuckles are a good incentive) even if my left hand punches still suck - their form is decent, but I still lack power *feels pathetic* We practiced punching without telegraphing, which is as hard as it sounds, but is good practice when you have an observant partner. Second half of the class, we moved onto using the punches in techniques, only Jack went to another level with the whole thing so none of us could get it quite right *laughes* This isn't unusual when Jack's teaching, though I'd nearly forgotten that type of frustration. The last part of the class, we shifted to proper police/security take downs for some reason, which are always fun if kinda painful. Suspect my shoulder will be sore in the morning.

Speaking of that, I was told that I guy I used to train with who was really flexible (more flexible than me since he was flexible all over, while with me it's just certain joints) actually can't train anymore since he ruined his ligaments or something by all the stretching out and stuff we get in training. *winces* Lovely, no?

You know, it's kinda weird to be training in one of the few actual ninja arts that are still being taught in the world. Jack was explaining something today and pointed out that one of the old sayings in our art is, "A ninja is never surprised." (part of me was waiting for him to finish and shout "shinobi rule number eleven!" or something *g*).

I felt really silly when I realized I could explain to my mum why she shouldn't have added sugar to the bread she made last night, but only because of what I'd learnt about bread baking from Yakitate Japan *sweatdrops*
