Bujinkan tonight was one of those classes where nothing seems to work. I was only managing an approximation of almost everything we did, not to mention exhausting myself. Rather frustrating honestly, especially since my arms are covered in bruises from the techniques. One particular ankle lock made this huge bruise on my forearm, with torn skin on top of it (cause my partner had rubber soled tabi) from doing it repetitively. Somehow I don't think it's a good thing to end up more injured than my opponent by a technique I'm doing. Actually had to spend the past few hours watching the latest Bleach with my bro cause was icing the bruise and couldn't do too much else. I swear Renji's hair gets brighter every time he appears in the series. Appreciated the fanservice at least. I may not find Renji's personality all that interesting but damn does he look hot with his hair down, covered in blood *g*
I forgot to mention that my dad and I watched the first four episodes of House the other day. Being Blackadder fans, we were kinda amused by Dr. House. Loved the black humour, though probably shouldn't have watched about tapeworms while eating.
Silver and Gold is proceeding apace. I'm writing tons of different scenes, and oddly enough, deleting many of them and rewriting them. My trouble is there's a lot of different ways all these conversations and such can go, so I write one scene, then go and write another and eventually decide if that scene achieves what I want later and so on. Am also having to characterize a bunch of new characters again. I like to think I'm pretty good at doing original characters, but it's such a bitch to introduce them properly. I've also had to take to looking up obscure Japanese baby names, 'cause I know from experience the moment you use one name that's from a even semi-popular anime, people start thinking of that character and not your own character (Hell in The Way, I used two names from Bleach accidently (completely forgot that Inoue was Orihime's first name) and someone asked me about it *sigh*).
Let's see, on the plus side, I'm slowly learning how to characterize Sakumo... mostly by getting him drunk *sweatdrop* Also, Kakashi is a precocious brat. Yondy only has luck with women when he doesn't try to flirt with them. Jiraiya is wondering why he isn't in the story yet, and I threw in one of the most obscure canon characters in the world.
The best news so far - my writing has, after several years, finally sped up a bit. I can now write half a page in twenty minutes instead of half an hour. *waves tiny flag* Go me!
