So, after lazing about reading fic and making icons, I finally decided to get out of my apartment for a bit and went to explore the next town over, Ube. I first stopped at a large book/cd/game/dvd store where I picked up a Naruto doujin, YYH #8 and the second FMA artbook for only $14 dollars(!).

I then found the goldmine - the largest second hand store I've ever seen. There was an impressive selection of tshirts, almost all of them in English attesting to far too many trips to NYC imo *g* though some had a good indie vibe. At least now I know where to go if I ever need t-shirts or other clothing since much of it was too big for the Japanese. A whole other part of the store was devoted to collectible toys and cards and models. I was doomed from the moment I saw it. I ended up with figurines of Kakashi and Yondaime (both about 5 dollars), a magnet of Zoro from the Skypeia arc, two pencil boards for One Piece and FMA, a Zoro keychain, a plushy of Puu from YYH for a dollar, and a cat bus plusy that needs to be sewed shut again on the stomach, but only cost six dollars. I then made the mistake of wandering into the manga section. 'Twas not a good idea. I picked up vol. 5 of Dragonball for less than 2 dollars, then thought I was free until I found the doujinshi section. God help me, but nearly every book was $1! I was so screwed. I spent probably an hour looking through them (the largest sections were PoT, Naruto and One Piece) and finally ended up with three One Piece, four Naruto and one Rurouni Kenshin doujin. Most are gag with a small amount of het and a large amount of slash. So it goes. Sadly, I didn't even finish looking through them all...

After I escaped, I stopped by the internet place to set up the internet which was kinda nerve wracking since my Japanese vocabulary just doesn't cover setting up the internet. *le sigh* So now, I'm rather tired, but pleased with my haul. If I could just find a place to buy new wallscrolls, I'll be all set.
