My kids yesterday were very amusing. I'm teaching them rooms in a house, and we got to the word 'yard'. If you say it Japanese style (yaa(r)do) it sounds a bit like "Yoda" which is what one of the kids had decided it now was. So every time the word came up, I was treated to lightsaber noises, or in the case of the matching game near the end, chants of "Yoda. Yoda. Yoda." I sure hope George Lucas is happy with his conquering of the world.
Today was my first Kindergarten class, which I mostly just watched. The kids were very cute in their little blue smocks with their names embroidered on them. The room we taught in was amazing. It was covered in panels with favourite kids characters on them (totoro, anpan man, pokeman etc). What was coolest was the huge, paper mache versions of the larger Totoro's from My Neighbor Totoro. In fact, Totoro was everywhere <3. The class itself is okay, just really long and rather far away so I actually got up the earliest I've gotten up since moving here (for a class at least). Weird stuff.
