How geeky am I that I could walk into the used stuff store today and pick out a tiny Shinsengumi pin from a huge selection and from this tiny picture recognize that it was Kondo Isami?

Don't answer that.

I had a pretty good day today. My kindergarteners were a bit slow which made for a crazy class, but then I got to relax and read fic and eat instant ramen (have become rather partial to a beef flavour here). My private kid class went okay even if he had far too much energy, and then I went off to find the place where I'm training tomorrow, and to visit the library. I was very bad and actually took out two books which I'm sure to have to renew several times, but oh well. One is called Once & Forever and is a collection of modern written fairy tales by Kenji Miyazawa. The other is sort of a Japanese cyberpunk novel, only without the cyber, called Coin Locker Babies by Ryu Murakami. The first line is a bit of a killer, but I read through Trainspotting so nothing much fazes me *L* I didn't think I'd like it but by the time the library closed I'd taken it out. Oh well. Afterwards, I hit up the used stuff store for pins. In addition to the Kondo one, I got a cute Kero-chan one, and a really nicely done Star Trek, federation badge one. My bag is beginning to look lived in now with all the pins. Woot!

I've never talked for an hour about pets and dogs before but that's what I did in my last class. Also found out they still have actual dog fights here in Japan. Weird, and kinda disturbing. Met up with G. and M. to have okonomiyaki later. Twas delicious and I love being able to make my own to my own specifications.

Tomorrow's going to be busy, so must relax and get some sleep.
