I have a bit of a cold atm. Runny nose, mildly sore throat, mild coughing, a sinus headache. Other than that, I feel fine so I'd rather be at kickboxing but since there's no heating at the gym where we train and my nose won't stop running while I'm indoors I figure it's a better idea to skip. Besides, I would like to be healthy for my winter holiday.
I was awakened at 8am this morning by the painters taking down the scafolding around the building. Considering I didn't get to sleep until 3am, this was rather annoying since I'd been counting on sleeping until 9 to get me through the day. As it was, I was rather bad tempered for my kindergarten class (I doubt they noticed; it mostly involved me muttering about what brats kids are and wondering if I could throw the girl who kept trying to kancho me out the window). One girl very cheekily informed me I had very big breasts. I didn't have the time to roll my eyes and thank her for informing me of the fact since I'd never have noticed on my own... A little boy did tell me that English was fun and I got several hugs which may or may not even out the germs they exposed me to every time they licked my cards or stuck their hands down their pants before handling them. (Little kids are disgusting...) I did get a kick out of using the kid's sized bathroom they had. It made me feel like a giant.
Afterwards, I had about an hour to kill before I headed to Yamaguchi city so I drove to around Akiyoshi cave and stopped at a little souvenier/restaurant place. There, I had a surprisingly delicious bowl of niku (meat) udon. I found some lemon in it which makes me wonder if they added lemon juice and I added that red spice I don't know the name of to clear out my sinuses (a little pinch of that stuff goes a very long way). I lingered over that and the inevitable cup of green tea (which tasted a lot like green tea mixed with grass) while reading Deep Secret by Diana Wynne Jones, which, while be nothing like the actual blurb on the back, has been a good book.
Have pretty much finished up my Christmas sending now. I have a few cards left, one or two presents to buy and one or two packages to send, but other than that I'm done. I have a few New Years cards to send as well (it's my year this year, yay!) but now that I've bought them, I'm not really sure what to write on them. Oops.
