My hands are so sore/tender from sifting sand to make a sand mold, then cutting up copper and tin, helping smelt it, then using a chisel to break off the bronze balls I made, then using a grinder to grind off the excess, that I can't use my scroll wheel. How will I read tumblr?

In other news, I now perfectly understand why some people never bothered to move beyond the hunter-gatherer stage. Not that flint knapping was a picnic, but firing pottery the old fashioned way and smelting bronze and making casts to smelt bronze is a ton of work. I worked an 11 hr day yesterday, 8 hrs today, and I have to do more bronze smelting on Monday before I'm even close to done with my project. And my moulds keep cracking *whimper* I have to make another mould tomorrow (this one has llama dung in it, of all things) because one of them is pretty much cracked beyond repair though we're pretending it isn't atm).

(In case you're wondering, I'm replicating small bells from the Three Kingdoms period in Korea, requiring me to smelt the bronze ringers before casting the actual bell. It'll be awesome if it works, and I very much hope it does since I'm presenting a paper on it in a conference in Sept.)
