I picked up a yellow belt in Jujutsu once, but quit because I found their rules too rigid (Bujinkan is really relaxed about nearly everything... you can train in your socks with anyone, regardless of rank, leave the mat when you like, etc.)
I do mean different schools, in the Rurouni Kenshin way (all the schools have the word 'ryu' in them...), but in the end it does boil down to doing a different style of fighting each year. This year, it's a lot of bo and sword work. The year before, it was a lot of fighting on your knees (as if we were samurai who couldn't raise our heads higher than our lord's...).
I'd be happy to look over any fight scenes you write:) *prods your muses too* *evil grin*
Now that we're into Naruto, my bro and I have a lot of trouble not cracking up when we get told ninja rules in class;)
