Dead tired from Bujinkan atm. It's kinda funny - I was yawning and dropping into exhaustion all through class, but as soon as I got in my car I was awake and fine. Next time, body, give me that second adrenaline boost while I'm in class please? Training was good. More kata at the beginning. Am spending my time being very finicky with my form since I have nothing better to do. Later was nominally mushadori, though he made a huge detour into ureadori or something like that. Mushadori is a pretty easy arm lock so no real trouble. Learnt a new way to break someone's ankle, and how to be very relaxed when defending from close range. One of the things I like about Bujinkan is that you do put your hands up and defend yourself and do things like make sure the hand that's not punching things is up to defend your face etc. - but we also train from a natural stance with your arms naturally at your sides. I like that because if someone ever does attack you, you're chances of them letting you get into a proper fighting stance aren't always high.
No injuries to speak of so far. Just sore elbows and shoulders from the mushadori. My brother actually hurt me more earlier today with a lucky punch to the nerve (or maybe ligment) on the top of my foot. It still hurts *L*
The snow this weekend was nice though it ultimately meant I didn't go to the Bujinkan seminar since I didn't fancy driving home in the stuff. It was nice to see a proper blizzard again, even if cleaning off my car was no fun.
Watched Terminator 2 last night with my dad and bro. I'm kinda sad that I ever watched T3 since it totally ruins a lot of the coolness of the first two movies, and the plot holes hurt my brain. We were just watching it for the mindless violence and explosions though, so our mocking wasn't really a problem.
My bro and I also watched the first two eps of Girl Meets Girl, a recent anime about a very feminine guy who gets turned into a girl in the first ep and then seems to develop a love triangle with two other girls. It would be kinda boring except for the random bits like the uber phallic space ship that turned the boy into a girl in the first place, or the crazy aliens and the random teacher who has defintely been reading too much GTO. Our general opinion is that it was a reverse harem story, or maybe a not so reverse harem, just with a boy as a girl. It was also kinda boring in places, but the random things weren't bad, and the space ship was one of the most random plot devices I've ever seen.
I've been trying to write the next chaptef of Uric, but then I realized I had to go back and read most of Wild Hunt so I could remind myself what offhand weird comments I've already done (I'm sure Uric repeats himself, but it's no fun if I do...). Of course, unlike Goblin Uprising, I can't actually remember writing most of Wild Hunt *L* It's so weird to read through though my general impression is that it's not that bad and is pretty cool after the first six chapters. I can't even remember the general form of the plot either. I'd forgotten huge sections of it and I keep thinking such and such scene is next, only to find there's an entire chapter until that one. It's also rather long. I think it's about 45,000 words. Now that I'm rereading, I appreciate that length. Ah well. Eventually I will finish rereading it and get on with the next chapter. Am determined to give Professor Darshan a bigger role.
