No. It's based on the Sword of the Truth series by Terry Goodkind, but they didn't think the name of the first book, 'Wizard's First Rule' would be a good name for the series since it's kinda limiting, and instead chose Legend of the Seeker since Richard, the main character, becomes the Seeker (who carries the Sword of Truth etc).
