Anime night tonight was great! We started off with some show I can't remember the name of with lots of mecs. I spent my time chatting with L. about Kenshin and pretending I wasn't going to let her borrow my Kenshin manga. Watching her beg has become one of my favourite pastimes. I'm so mean *eg*
Next was Azumanga Diao, which was just adorable and fun. I need to make a Chiyou-chan icon that says "far too cute" on it. Afterwards we watched Now and There, Here and Then which I sensibly read through.
After that was an episode of the Animatrix. It was surprisingly good in both plot and story quality (most of them are lacking on story quality I've noticed). We were a bit weirded out/amused when it stopped working right at the point where the main character entered a faulty/forbidden part of the Matrix. As one of the guys said, "Okay, that's too ironic." We got it working eventually though.
Next was Kenshin, the three pirate episodes all at once in preparation for starting the Kyoto arc next week. Just watching everyone's jaws drop simply at the previews for episodes 28-30 was very nice, since they've been giving L. and I crazy looks at our worship of those episodes...
Our final show was Excel Saga, episodes 23-25, which basically means we're finished with the series except for the bonus ep. What a fun ride. L. nearly chocked to death on her pillow as she tried to stop laughing at the DBZ parodies. And the Fist of the North Star stuff! We were rofl most of the time, except for the serious episode in which we were only snickering;)
