Got to sleep in late until 11pm today. I love how my room at Dad's never gets any light which allows me to sleep so much longer (I'm highly photosensitive much to my annoyance). We had cinnamon buns and rainbow ribbon cookies for breakfast around noon, then I dallied on the internet while Kirk and Dad played games. We eventually made our way to mum's house despite the heavy traffic. I'm appalled by how many accidents there are today. What a horrible christmas present to give your family...
Let's see, non-dvd's first: Kenshin manga vol 1 & 2,
Chinese style sandals,
A handmade old fashioned pen with blue ink from Italy plus a handmade leather book to write in with it. Am deathly afraid to do so and ruin it of course.
Funky salt and pepper shakers in the shape of Japanese figures (so very British was my first though... then I realized I'd been watching all those rummage tv reality shows too much).
Lots of random paper accessories with Ukiyo-e prints on them.
Origami paper complete with the most complicated origami instructions I've ever seen *whimpers in anticipation of defeat*
A mini-sewing kit that looks like a snuff box (which is what I will pretend it is from hence forth, complete with stuffing the needles up my nose)
A weird little creature that mum and I have decided is a Japanese badger, since it's either that or a japanese skunk.
A japanese vase of better than usual taste.
A leather vest that fits me surprisingly enough. I question just what mum thinks I do when I'm at uni that she bought me it though. It's very, er, slutty I suppose.
Pocky.
A funky necklace that looks quite tacky but is kinda cool in that you stuff very tiny prayers inside it. Sort of like carrying around your own mini- Wailing Wall.
DVDs
Orphen 3 & 4
Kenshin (er, whichever dvds I needed to complete the Kyoto arc)
Saiyuki 4, 5,& 6
Fruits Basket 1 & 2 (hadn't expected the second dvd but am happy to have the first 12 episodes now. I might even be able to finish the series off when my birthday comes around.)
Shakespeare in Love (this was mostly so I could stop borrowing my flatmate's copy when I wanted to watch it, and I want to see the extras)
Pirates of the Caribbean (raise your hand if this surprised you)
Muppet Treasure Island (mwahaha! can't wait to see how the commentary is)
Samurai Fiction (another random Japanese samurai drama that I heard good reviews of)
Spirited Away (*huggles dvd*)
So, now I am overwhelmed and have no idea what to do first. I'm quite tempted to steal some of my bros presents so I don't have to decide, but then I'd have to decide which of his I want and would be in the same position. No wonder I'm surfing the net and ignoring everything instead.
Dinner will be soon and mum is cooking up a storm. I've forgotten what we asked for for dinner. Turkey, maybe? Either way, will eat soon, then everyone wants to see Spirited Away, which is perfectly fine with me:) Am having a lovely day. Ja ne!
