I saw Six Feet Under last night (checking online reveals it was episode 3). I was kinda disappointed that for a show set in a morgue it wasn't that funny, even when it was trying to be. I wouldn't bother seeking it out, but it was entertaining, at least for taking notes to.

Also caught the first part of the movie Horatio Hornblower (with Gregory Peck) this afternoon, all the way up to when Lady Barbara shows up on the Lydia (then I had to go to class). It was an odd movie to watch cause they'd obviously made some attempts to keep things accurate, then just given up with other things. I really liked the touch of making so many officer's uniform's worn and dirty from being in use for so long for instance. I don't think Peck did the 'ha-hmm' right, but at least he did. I liked the way they revealed Hornblower's thoughts in diary form (though I kept wondering why he was writing all this stuff down since the Admiralty would kill him for putting stuff like that in his reports.), but thought Peck was too emotional. Was very amused by how much money Bush was making betting on how predictable Hornblower was. Not too bad a movie all things considered, at least from the first part of it.

There is nothing so odd as reading a story, not knowing the pairing, being told the pairing, debating reading any further because you don't like the pairing, reading anyway, then discovering by the end of the story that the pairing never materialized. I'm happy about it, but it's weird.
