Tokugawa Ieyasu (Ieyasu being his first name) was the great leader and founder of the Tokugawa era of Japan which lasted about 300 years (ending in the late 1800s) and was a great achievement since Japan had gone through 400 years of war before he came along, though in reality he built it up on the work of the war lord, Oda Nobunaga and his lietenant Hideyoshi, but they died and he lived on, so he gets all the credit:)
