Without my realizing it, my bro dragged me into a five hour long Naruto marathon today. We made it up to episode 81. I had intended to stop on the Hokage's funeral, but ended up watching the next ep over dinner. You know, it's bad enough that Itachi paints his fingernails purple, but his toenails as well?! I wonder if he killed everyone because they refused to let him paint his nails a color other than Uchiha red and white, and they wouldn't let him wear ugly looking cloaks with red cloud patterns?
The hardest part of watching these eps, I found, was resisting the urge to strangle Sasuke. Not that I could, but there were times when I was seriously contemplating throwing something at the screen, or spitting at him, or something. I cannot understand his appeal when every time he's on screen I want to punch him in the face. This worries me, since it means I share Naruto's opinion of him. I don't know how I'm going to sit still for the later parts of this series.
I wish both the manga and the series showed more of the other fights going on in Kohona besides Naruto/Gaara and Hokage/Orochi because I'm quite attatched to so many of the minor characters in the Naruto series and want to see more of them. There is more fighting shown in the anime at least, but most of it was tantalizingly short.
ps. The muted colour scheme of the funeral made everyone look great. This meant I spent most of the funeral going, "Wow. Iruka's looking hot!" Whoops.
