Today was a long day, but a fun one. I had a relatively early class at 11am with the music woman, who I found out just wants to learn to sing along with english songs and to learn what the lyrics mean. She likes the Beatles and Simon and Garfunkle, so I think I can oblidge her. Then I learnt how to take money out of the cash machine (suprisingly easy though what they do with your bank book is weird), and visited the book store where I couldn't resist buying the new Shonen jump since it had a Naruto pencil board in it (and lots of Dragonball/DBZ postcards which I just snickered over). The new Colourful Bleach has lots of Renji and Ichigo in it and the FFXII characters are in some of the gayest poses ever inside. I'm left wondering what god I ever offended now that I've discovered there's a YuGiOh GX and there's still chapters of regular YuGiOh in the damn thing. (The random chapter called Slime Mori Mori (forest) kinda looks like the Smurfs on crack.)
I had my favourite kid's class in Mine then. It was pretty foggy and drizzly so not the best drive to make, but I still stopped on the way back to take some pictures of the countryside. I had an hours break then before my advanced class. We had a great time talking about their home towns, and eventually food, which was a bad idea since it left me very hungry with and hour and half to go before I could eat anything *L* (it was 8pm by that point) Off, I headed to my last class. This guy's a very good conversationalist who is a plastic surgeon (he likes to show people the gruesome pictures) and he chided me mercilously for knowing nothing about golf. Then he found out I was a nidan (2nd degree black belt) and spent the rest of the class telling me (teasingly) how violent and dangerous I was:P Oddly enough, it is true here in Japan that my hands are classified as a dangeous weapon. If I were to commit a crime using my hands, I'd be jailled. How weird is that? He also teased me about being able to read hiragana and about cooking gyoza wrong *L*
So with all the talk of food, I decided to bite the bullet and visit the the ramen shop that's about two blocks away from my apartment. It's a pretty big shop which was perfect since I figured if I messed up, there'd be pictures to point at - which is good since I forgot the word for pork... I did get it ordered though and it was a bit different from the ramen I've had in America (ramen's different here in the south anyway) but very good. Definately something I will make a regular habit of, I think:D
