Absolutely! I've been spending a lot more time there rolling my eyes than usual. What's with that "I'm questioning the sanity of my reviewers" thread. Here's hoping that the whole place is just going through a low point. When it's good, you know, it's very very good, and when it's bad...ecch.
Are you a Better Than Ezra fan? A good friend of mine just won a t-shirt design contest they sponsored (she made one of those "I (heart) New York"-style t-shirts, only it said "I (heart) BTE." She's like a Deadhead when it comes to them...follows them everywhere and suchlike.
I love their song, King of New Orleans, and a few of their other songs as well. I don't know much about them other than that. I have my mp3 player set to cycle through the 1200+ songs I have, so whatever I'm listening to when I post tends to be rather random.
We need some better thread topics in the workshop methinks...and people who actually think to post to them (No offense to anyone, but I haven't seen a good discussion of anything for awhile now).
I'm in the middle of writing an essay atm...so I know what you mean about being out of it.
I'm thinking a discussion about character development. It seems to be something a lot of writers are neglecting. People change after all, but people either ignore it, or take it to an extreme.
Also a discussion of plot cliche, in reference to HP fiction but also in reference to fiction in general. You should not be able to guess the plot of an entire story after reading one chapter, but you have to be able to lead your reader to it...Should probably call this a discussion of foreshadowing.
Those are two I can think of off the top of my head. Once I get through with my essay, I might even post one of them...or someone else could do it for me. (I am not up to writing anything too coherent atm)
Well, it sure looks like it, although I am just a member since September. There are also a lot of 'actve' threads this month so far, inclusing this YAPPER thing or whatever it is called...
I know what you mean. I haven't been to the FA Park recently because of it. PS: Nothing to do with your post, but nevertheless something you might find funny: I was reading the Portuguese translation of "Philosopher's Stone", and noticed that Uric the Oddball was translated as "Uric, o Incomparável Crânio" (in English, "Uric, the Outstanding Brain")
It's not just you. Apart from McG's Workshop, have you seen the new Nifflers? ::shakes head:: Dreamwalk Blue? Yeah, *really* obscure and overlooked fic... And that's only one of them.
Not just you. It happens as more people join up, the average intelligence level drops. Dramatically. I loved that board when it first came up... now it's slightly... used.

What do you suggest? I would start one, if my brain wasn't on stand-by at the moment (too much reading, I need to write more).
