Things I have done since last I posted:

Finished the edit of my book and reformatted it for agents to read.

Completed half my application to the University of Hawaii postgrad program (the harder, anthropological application part is left)

Requested two recommendations for uni, received conformation of one. Still have to decide who to ask for the third.

Mailed some presents to friends and family.

Updated my CV

Finished Airman by Eoin Colfer (reads like The Count of Monte Cristo for kids, only more fun and with technology)

Sent out two queries on my book (would have sent more but two seems to be enough to get my pulse racing *gulp*)

Started reading The Guns of the South by Harry Turtledove. Love the idea of AK-47s in the Civil War.

Visited [livejournal.com profile] ozmaz for good conversation, food and watching of One Piece.

Saw Quantum of Solace. After a lot of thought, I decided that the biggest flaw of this movie was its lack of a conventional plot. Bond skips from one perilous situation to another without any regard for such things as a climax or for the watchers. I only knew the fight in the hotel was probably the last because the movie was getting long, not because there was any indication of the action stopping there. That said, I enjoyed Daniel Craig's acting of an increasingly upset Bond (though really, would it kill him to just tell M that he didn't commit all the murders they're blaming on him?), especially with the death of Mathias and the parallels between Bond and the Bolivian agent woman. The movie needed to be both longer to explain certain barely touched upon plot points, and shorter for the sake of my bladder. The end.

Ordered a copy of my transcript from Edinburgh to be sent to Hawaii. No word on Leeds.

Completed the paperwork part of my application for a new passport (current passport expires sept of next year and they advise renewing it nine months in advance so 11 months in advance should be plenty). I'm requesting extra visa pages from the start in the hopes of avoiding having to get more at an awkward time in the future.

Read all the way up to the fourth round of the Nationals in Prince of Tennis. I love how silly intense it is. Also, the golden pair are very gay.

Began to go back through all my posts from the beginning of this journal onwards to tagging or adding to memories when appropriate.

Watched the first six episodes of Kuroshitsuji. The hunting down of Jack the Ripper was as hilarious as it was in the manga. My brother laughed his arse off.

Still left to do:

Submit more queries.

Finish postgrad application.

Confirm two more recommendation people for postgrad app.

Get Leeds transcript sent to Hawaii.

Get passport photos before sending out passport renewal.

Study for the GRE.

Read more books from library.

Begin work on writing new book.

Start looking for jobs.

Play Fallout 3 (my brother has requested I try it).

Finish and send last of Christmas shopping.

Apply for scholarships.

And I'm sure there's more things I'm missing... *sigh*
