I don't think I really realized how waiting for responses to query letters could give you a constant state of low level anticipation/anxiety. I know intellectually that'll it'll take weeks or months to get a response, but I still keep thinking I'll get one any minute now (yes, even though it's nearly 2am). I suspect when I get my first rejection letter, I'll be very happy *L*

I just finished tagging all of 2003 in my journal. I'd forgotten how many weird reviews I used to get (they've mostly settled down now). Also, I did a lot of quick quizzes back then.

Since my knee still wasn't healing after however I injured it in late September (I assume hiking on the trip), I went to physical therapy today. It was interesting. They put a cold compress on the knee and bombarded it with sonic stuff and shot it with lasers (I am totally not joking). I was also told to wear a knee brace while training and ice the damn thing while I drive home from said training. Dad had scheduled the appointment quite late, so as a result I missed Bujinkan. This wasn't a total bad thing since a) my knee was stiff from the scifi attack and b) I needed to go shopping for thanksgiving ingredients. My mum is doing the main meal (I requested turkey since I haven't had a proper thanksgiving in ages), but told my dad to handle the desert and salad. Dad, in turn (since I do the cooking in this house) handed these jobs over to me asking if I could recreate Outback's Blue Cheese Chopped Salad. A little research on the internet and I told him I could. The research also turned up a recipe for eggnog pumpkin pie which I was unable to resist the lure of trying to bake, so yes, I will be making my first pie ever on Thursday. Of course, we don't have a working oven here so I have to make it at Dad's then deliver it to Mum's for baking. Ah fun. (Just yesterday, I made dinner and out of the blue my Dad said, "You're a good cook. I didn't expect that." He didn't really have a reason why he thought that though.)

Fanfic wise, am reading through Code Geass stuff though I'm deliberately reading the bad/shorter stuff first so I have yet to judge if those fics that have passed the hundred review marks are any good. We shall see. I love that lots of people write AUs in this fandom at least. I'd like to see one where the Black Knights don't turn on Lelouch.

I tried playing Fallout 3 this evening. I feel really bad about not liking it much because the idea of so much freedom in a game is great. I loved all the options and the way you could build your character or influence the storyline - but I found the plot boring and fighting giant, irradiated cockroaches just isn't that much fun. Also, the whole game is kinda depressing.

Have about reached the point where I need to buckle in and seriously study for the GRE. Bah. I also have to write a Statement of Objectives for Hawaii. Evil. Also, two more query letters to send to finish off the first round. Nothing is ever easy.
