Having been away for the past two months, I've missed all the developments in Pirates fanfic and don't have the time in lab to search for all the good ones out there... but I just might have the time to read some of them if they're pointed out to me. So any recommendations of Pirates fanfic would be welcomed, slash or gen, though no PWP please. Cheers:)

I've got several entries with Pirate recs in my site's community, [livejournal.com profile] gardenwriting (there aren't that many entries there so they shouldn't be hard to find). And if you go to my list of favorites on ff.net here (http://www.fanfiction.net/profile.php?userid=28737&hal=stories#bot) there are several more.

And if I may self-plug. I've got my own that can be read here (http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1503514).

Cheers:) The number of mary sues I saw from casual browsing was beginning to scare me.

The fandom is really bad for mary sues. Which is why when I find a good one it goes in on my favorites list. :) So I can find it again. I rarely just browse the category itself anymore, instead I browse the favorites lists of my more intelligent reviewers. :) Seems to work much better.

If you find a good author, I've got an invite-only archive that I've been trying to get all the decent authors to get accounts with. Just point me in their direction and I'll send them an invite e-mail. I'm hoping to build it as an archive of the best stuff so without the crap that ff.net generates. As a service to those of us who like *good* fanfic. :)

I still haven't seen PoTC yet (bad me!) but have a slew of posts to read after I do. Check out [livejournal.com profile] iscaris's journal; she's been writing a lot of PoTC fic. Also, [livejournal.com profile] switchknife recommended some the other night.
