I was reading article on instances of women participating in warfare in the upper Missouri area, and discussions of fourth gender and differing performances of female gender in those societies, and I came upon this quote.

"A Crow oral history depicts a situation where a mother dispatched her son's enemy by smashing the assailant's head with her hatchet; subsequently, her son's name became He-kills-with-his-mother."

That has to be one of the top ten most awesome and hilarious names in history.

She does not, though the article only briefly mentions a lot of these stories so perhaps the book it came from has the full story. I would track it down if I didn't have quals to study for.
