I decided to say 'fuck it' and do Yuletide this year. I was appalled to realize that the last time I participated was 2003! And I have about five days free in december to write the fic, so it should turn out fine. Turns out there's only one request I was given that I can fufill, but I adore it and I've already plotted out the entire thing, even if the time to reacquaint myself with the fandom and write the fic is not going to be available until after the 17th of december.
In other news, last week was so stressful and tiring, I ended up doing only 4hrs or so of work for the entire weekend. Instead, I went out with a friend to the somewhat far away bakery of amazingness and chocolate (we had swedish meat pies, and meatballs and princess cakes and chocolate peanut butter cheesecake...). We talked until they kicked us out, then I hit up the grocery store and fixed up a beef stew which I slow cooked all night. I feel so much better eating healthy food this week and damn is it tasty (I can never decide if I like the taste of the sweet potatoes in the stew, but bella mushrooms are awesome and I have no idea why none of the recipes add them). I also played civ 4 with my little bro for several hours. All in all, just the break I needed. Now, I just have to make my presentation for the conference I present at this weekend, survive my Korean midterm, and you know, read 1/2 a book, several articles, plus work on maps for cartography, and my job at the archaeochem lab which is my usual workload.
