Went to electrolysis today. I swear it gets more painful each time, despite the numbing cream. And this is coming from someone who is regurarly bruised and injured in the course of her hobby. You'd think I'd be more used to pain, but then again, no one jabs me with tiny needles and electrical shocks in martial arts.

Have finished The Amulet of Samarkund and quite enjoyed it, especially the characterisations, which is good since the plot was kinda obvious. Intriguing back story though, and i'm interested to see how the characters change over time.

My move today was to visit the local library which I haven't been to since they tore down the old one and rebuilt it. It's quite roomy now and fun to wander around, though I ached to take out all the books I wanted to read (there's well over ten books in the scifi and fantasy section that deserve a look for instance). I will restrain myself until summer. *pout* Picked up The Lecturer's Tale since it was the only book that was there that I was actually looking for. I did raid the teen section (the one advantage to looking 16 is that no one notices when you spend time lurking in the teen section... my mum says I should try it early next week when everyone goes back to school and see if I get picked up for truancy *eg*) and picked up a few random books (Aleutian Sparrow, The Life Eaters (GN), and Eragon (pretty dragon cover art always gets me *sigh*). The Golem's Eye was still being catalogued. Grrr.

Mum is happy I'm down to size 12 now, enough so that she made me buy summer shorts to last me until doomsday. I really hate shopping, but the fact that my dad had no car and needed a ride (necessitating me driving for a little over 5 hours total yesterday) meant it was cut short, which meant I wasn't as cranky by the end of the day as I could have been. The new summer styles btw, are really horrible, all these brilliant colours (like hot pink and green) in disgusting patterns and cuts. Thank god I have enough clothing that still fits and looks good to last the summer.

Tommorow I'm going into the city to hit Book Off and visit the netsuke show (if I can find it that is...).
