I got to watch Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring during the last three hours of work tonight (which totally made up for having to call security during the early part of my shift). It amazes me how well I can still quote the movie, though I did keep getting distracted by The True Meaning of Smekday during commercials and looking up to discover I'd read through some of Fellowship.
I began to get the first signs of an aura that heralds a migraine for me soon after I got home from Bujinkan on Weds. It was only my second migrane, but the first one had provided hours of aura before the actual headache hit, so I hurried through brushing my teeth and bedded down before any pain could hit. Consequently, I woke up on Thurs morning achy, feeling fragile with random bursts of pain (I walked into a car door on Tues. so even though the migraine was on the right side, I had pain on my left from the headblow), and utterly exhausted. I could barely keep my eyes open long enough to call in sick to work, and to make a much later appointment with the doctor to make sure the head injury had nothing to do with the migraine and also to check that the migraines were just migraines. I was pretty much told there was little I could do and that I was lucky they weren't worse (since most present with nausea), but I have a medicine to try when the next one hits to see if it negates it since it was annoying to lose a day of work just cause I was sleepy and achy.
I'd talk about Bujinkan but I don't remember much of it beyond that it was very very hot and humid, we learnt a very difficult sword training move which will take me many moons to digest, and it's really annoying to be training in moves that involve grabbing someone when they're covered in sweat (your hands slip right off... eww).
