Buyu training on monday was fun. I had Ja. as a partner and we did our level best to take each other down. He got a little frustrated at some point and twisted my right arm around enough that I've been on muscle relaxants for two days to try to fix it (it hurts to hold out my hand and turn it to the right)). I got frustrated at being unable to get a simple lever to work cause the fulcrum point was your own arm against theirs and no matter how I tried it, I always moved the fulcrum point which makes the lever useless. Oh well. Got everything else at least. At one point, J., who was teaching the class since Jack wasn't there, came by to tell Ja. to take it easy. Ja looks at me and goes, "She's tough. She can take it." And J. says, "Well, yeah, but that doesn't mean she doesn't go home and have to soak in the bath for two hours in agony." "That's what the muscle relaxants are for," I responded, and that was the end of it.
I've been adoring the new Sherlock series, though the first ep is what's amazing while the second was boring in comparison. I wondered why it was so nice and realized only after reading a long comprehensive review of Sherlock Holmes in film (hey, I've read The Annotated Sherlock Holmes... his film appearances is nothing compared to that), it's because there's been only a few adaptations of Study in Scarlett and a lot of versions of Sherlock Holmes skip over their first meeting all together. This is a pity since watching Watson react to things for the first time is really delicious.
And now I must be off to Bujinkan again. Ja ne!
