deralte: (daleks love (by me))

Wow. What a busy weekend. The Wee-con was Saturday, which was fun. I loved seeing all the cosplayers and demonstrating how sucky I am at DDR. [livejournal.com profile] lucyjin and I basically won the anime quiz there by ourselves *cough*again*cough*, which I am both proud and amusingly ashamed of. We are such fangirls *L* There were lots of extra goodies being thrown about or awarded so I have many cool, little things to add to my collection (like a Ghost in the Shell t-shirt). I'm sad that I didn't have time to cosplay as well. I actually didn't watch much anime, but did see a new samurai series called Basilisk which really wasn't that impressive, and the first part of the Lupin movie.

I left early to go to Beltane with [livejournal.com profile] oldjanxspirit. It was freezing up on the hill, but it was a lot of fun. We staked out a good vantage point for the end and stuck with it, since there was no way I could see over the crowds anyway (short of being arrested for vicious elbow use *eg*). I loved seeing the ceremony, but then I love it whenever somebody starts a large bonfire near me after symbolically killing people. *whistles innocently, hides copy of The Wicker Man*

Today, I've been catching up on many things. Finished reading Harry Harrison's 'Bill the Galactic Hero' which was entertaining, but suffered from an attempt to parody too many things at once and, I suspect, the author running out of ideas... I went to karate, where I actually mostly ended up training by myself while they went through kata. We did do some nice training at the end at least. I also appear to be fighting in the tournament this Saturday. I have a feeling I'll be disqualified very quickly... I watched Bleach 28-29 and The Daily Show too.

I finally got around to watching 'Dalek' today. *luvs* I can tell how much I like each new episode by how much I screencap it, and Dalek and The End of the World are the two I've attacked the most so far. I must somehow find time to make icons while I'm studying so that I can post the set of 2nd doctor ones I made on Friday (I must note that Troughton is actually a brilliant Doctor to make icons of since he has such an expressive face *g*).
