Yakitate Japan continues to get more and more crazy. My brother and i have discovered we can't watch the second ending of the series without hyperventilating and dying of crack overdose. It's amusing that even the characters know they're going to get a dose of crack every time they eat Azuma's bread, and yet kinda scary as well. Not to mention there was half an episode where one guy (after undoing his trousers after eating some particularly cracktastic bread) spent the rest of the episode surrounded by other guys holding his trousers up. This was only one of the weirder things about the lastest episodes. I feel like I can only watch a few eps in a row before my brain begins to break. Hell, the only thing I've watched that's more cracktastic than this show is the PoT chibi eps and some of Excel Saga.

I visited [livejournal.com profile] ozmaz yesterday. I feel kinda bad that I addicted her to FMA, showed her the whole series, and just when she thought she was free, I addicted her to One Piece. She'll never be free now...

Other than that, have been variously working on job applications (read, barely...), reading fic (even if I have run out of decent Naruto fic *sigh*), and looking at a ton of fanart. Looking through the Japanese fanart/doujin sites gives me a lot of japanese practice, which is as good a reason as any to look for pictures of my favourite bishonnen with their shirts off;)

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] lucyjin I got your package today. I had a good laugh over the pen:) I have some things to send you as well, so expect them eventually;)

Well I'm leaving for London next week anyways, so I wouldn't have been able to watch all of it. Although I probably wouldn't have cared that much...I'm one of those people who actually don't mind dubs. I know *gasp*

It's not just the dub. It's the fact that they arrived anything they thought might be disturbing to children over five. One Piece is a show about pirates and fighting. People die, there's blood, guns and other weapons, people smoke (one main character constantly). So in order to sanitize the show for kids, they really had to remove a lot and consequently removed a lot of what made the show as cool as it is. It's one thing to have a bad dub, it's another thing to completely alter a series.

On the other hand I would not have probably seen this if it wasn't for it airing on YTV. They are giving people a chance to like it, and if they like it enough, to go see the unsanitized version.
